Costly Drinks

I was inspired by a friend’s post (who shall remain nameless but I’m sure he knows who he is) to write a little ditty about those tasty coffee drinks that are so popular these days.

While they may be trendy and tasty, they are certainly costly if you are watching your daily caloric intake.  I put together a little table to demonstrate my point.

(I used the grande size as I believe it is the most popular size with most customers.)

Drink (16 oz) Calories % of Recommended Daily Calories for a woman, 31-50 yr old*
Hot chocolate 320 18%
Flavored late 250 14%
Caffe mocha 290 16%
Cappuccino 120 7%
Caramel macchiato 240 13%
White Chocolate Mocha 400 22%
Caramel Brulee Frap 300 17%
Cinnamon Dolce Frap 350 19%
Mocha Frap 280 16%
Tiramisu Frappuccino 380 21%

Now consider: 1 chicken breast, 1 cup of green beans, and 1 iced unsweetened tea = approx. 281 calories.
