Burpees for Sophia

To help a little girl going into treatment for cancer, I participated in a fundraiser called “Burpees for Sophia.”  The fundraiser was spearheaded by a friend of ours who now works at a crossfit gym, and though I do not exercise there, I thought this was a great way to give back.  I also thought it would be a good way to be a role-model for my students.  I told them that I would do one burpee for every dollar that we could fund raise.  They couldn’t get their wallets out fast enough!  All told, we raised $62 in a few days.  I promised them that I would do the burpees for them.  I’m undecided as to whether I will do them before each class (that’s 5 times!) or if I’ll do it during a lunch period this Friday.  I better practice beforehand!
